Peer Groups Supply Chain Audit & Analysis Mentoring/Interim Management Supply Chain Relationships Supply Chain Consulting Education & Training

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Education and training incorporates business simulations and presenting training, educating and chairing.

Simulations offered include; Beer Game, Value Chain Game, Apples & Oranges - Distribution, Tango, Red Blue Collaboration/Competition Simulation, Supply Chain Ball Game, The Plate Game (constraints management).

Our approach is always dialectic.

“The art of logical discussion and disputation by means of question and answer. Evolving truths by critical analysis of (mental) processes”.

PEER GROUP WORKSHOP
Delegates will be involved in a peer group discussion to understand current supply chain performance and how to identify potential improvement opportunities.

Initially, delegates will be grouped into one of six (depends on the numbers of delegates) companies and each given a role in the supply chain, e.g. planning, make (purchasing), deliver (inventory, transport, customer service). Overall company details will be provided (industry, activity, customer channels, number of SKUs, etc). Then a level 1 KPI (metrics) table will be provided to delegates that will detail their company’s supply chain performance.

Activity one is for each delegate, from their position in the supply chain, to write a couple of paragraphs describing the current supply chain performance based on the Level 1 KPIs.

Activity two is for the company delegates to group together and discuss and build a common view of supply chain performance.

Activity three is then to conduct a peer group meeting starting with each company explaining their current performance. Delegates from other companies can interject raising points that require clarification.

Timing for this workshop can be as short as one hour and as long as 4 hours.

Learning’s from the workshop environment include;

  1. How to read a set of level 1 KPIs.
  2. Understand how process, customer channels and company profile impacts on what the KPIs actually mean. KPI gaps do not always equate to improvement opportunity!! Need to ask why, why, why, why and why!
  3. See first hand how KPIs are the starting point for benchmarking and process improvement.
  4. Identify that different people depending on, their position in the supply chain, may interpret the same information differently.
  5. Enables delegates to experience the new learning environment of, peer group networking.
